What's wrong with being a "core gamer"? I've been one all my life!

If Unity hadn't been such a technical shambles, I'd have disagreed and suggested that online-centric games should only really be reviewed once servers are populated. You wouldn't try to review an MMORPG before players were actually in the world, would you?

BUT Unity was a shambles, and it's justifiably coloured our perceptions of The Crew. Either way, this is a seriously risky pre-order.

Yes. Sooner or later, this sort of thing WILL reach breaking point and likely result in a reduction or all-out revolt against pre-orders. Which, in turn, will likely lead to a AAA crash.

Which can be prevented by doing some freaking QA!

Okay physicists, we need to have a little chat.

Do we have FTL travel, space fleets, jetpacks and time travel yet?

No?

Then stop tossing about and make that happen please guys. I'd help, but I'm too stupid -- it's up to you I'm afraid. You can debate Mario physics after.

I agree with the sentiment, but following directly from a comment calling someone a "fanboy," it rings pretty hollow. :/

Sigh. Wii U exclusives tend to be brilliant. Sadly Sonic can't develop his way out of a paper bag.

There just seem to be way too many caveats for me. It can play 'some' Vita games. It can play 'some' media apps, but not the ones most of us actually need and use. It can be useful for remote play in 'some' setups if you're fully wired up for LAN or have insane Wi-Fi speeds.

Nah. Especially since you don't get another DS4 into the bargain, which might have made it attractive for PS4 owners at a higher price, seeing as they could get a second co...

Just let the franchise die for two years and use the time to actually work out what direction Sonic should take, and what made the original games so great.

For me TF is the best FPS of the year because of its legacy. So many games now offer double-jumping verticality and gameplay freedom instead of -- and we have TF to thank for that.

Oh, and the finely-tuned perfectly-honed gameplay is kind of important. As someone who plays shooters because I love the gameplay, not because of pointless metagame/upgrades/progression, I've kept playing simply since I'm having a blast. Just my 2c.

Hear hear. Naughty Dog proved that they can do something fresh and new... so let's let them do something ELSE fresh and new! Stuff sequels, let's see what else they've got.

Ugh. No multiplatform site is biased against your favourite console. The specific author/writer/host/pundit just has an opinion that differs from yours - or is just trolling for hits as opposed to actively hating on a particular system.

@FATAL1TY: Not sure if they're as bad as major banking corporations, private military corporations, arms dealers and massive environmental polluters dude.

Plus, a few months ago we were singing their praises for games like Child Of Light, Valiant Hearts, Rayman Legends and risky smaller titles. The problem is that Assassin's Creed has become a cash cow rushed to insane annual deadlines.

And that worst gaming platform ever = Uplay. Well, now that GFWL ...

Ha! Nice. You forgot that bugs are more "cinematic" though.

P4G is the best game on that list, but it does often come up in PSN sales! (at least in the UK). FFX HD might be a slightly better value option long-term if you're talking about bundles, and it also happens to be brilliant.

However: DO NOT PLAY DANGANRONPA 2 BEFORE THE ORIGINAL. It will make little sense and you'll spoil the first game too. Personally I think the first game is far superior to the second in terms of characters, storytelling and writing/localisation any...

Yep. It's amazing. The sequel was good, but the original gripped me from beginning to end. Couldn't put it down.

Danganronpa gets a big shout-out in the guide's game section - "Spoiler alert, this will almost certainly be my favourite game of 2014 come end-of-year article season!"

Buy a pre-owned Wii U with a bunch of installed games on its hard disk, I guess!

The point is that there's a difference between "inconsistently improved for some people" and "fixed." Seriously brilliant to hear that some players are seeing noticeable upgrades, but personally speaking, it's still a seriously mixed bag and others are in the same boat.

4104d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

The point is that "the patch has certainly improved the experience for some players," yourself included by the sounds of it, but is still massively inconsistent.

"Team Slayer works speedily for me post-update," "And yet, occasionally, I'm shooting straight into a balanced game within a couple of minutes." - it's an improvement but nowhere near fixed for most, especially if you take a look at Reddit and the forums.

I don&#...

@Intentions: Glad to hear it! Sadly, personally speaking, I'm finding it the same as a few days ago -- sometimes quick and painless, sometimes eternal loading screens and 'cannot connect - the session is full.'

@KNWS: Ta, here's hoping that the Halo 5 beta puts our minds at rest! However, I hope that the team isn't too busy with that to keep fixing MCC.

4104d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yep, agreed 100%. It's nice to see someone who has a background in GAMES heading the company - not a stuffed shirt with experience in physical goods, managing football teams, food or other unrelated fields. Or EA, in Mattrick's case.

4104d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Hmm. Not sure that matters - matchmaking is just supposed to get players together, THEN you can choose the maps, so in theory it shouldn't matter whether you're running one map or 100+.

Still I see what you mean, I think the MCC content just spread 343 thin. Halo 5 is one game and should give them much more time/manpower to really focus on it.
